St. Helena Baptist

On Sunday September 22, 2019 Bob Upton was honored as "Deacon Emeritus"  for his 50 years as a deacon of Saint Helena Baptist Church. As a founding member, "Captain Bob" has worked diligently to serve the church in many capacities. He has been a mentor to new deacons and young men alike.

On receiving this honor, Captain Bob’s only comment was “I couldn’t have done it without my wife”. Accepting God’s words to be true - Genesis 2:18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”
