Local Mission Opportunities
We are blessed to live in an area that has such diverse opportunities for living out the missional call that Christ has placed on each of our lives.
Local Missions

Throughout Beaufort and Jasper counties, there are so many people that are waiting for someone to build a relationship with them and share the good news that we know is found in Him.  What a privilege to walk that path together.

Mission Opportunities:

Multihousing ministry - This ministry involves building relationships with those who live in multiple dwelling locations such as apartment complexes, condos, high rise buildings, marinas, mobile home parks, etc.  This ministry allows access to people of all ages and from all walks of life and includes, but is certainly not limited to, backyard bible clubs, bible studies, mentor programs, after school programs, book clubs, life skill classes, affinity groups, service projects and more.

Sports ministry - If you are a sports enthusiast, then there are plenty of opportunities to use this as a tool for ministry.   Local Boys and Girls Clubs and Parks and Leisure Services Clubs (PALS) are very open to volunteers coming and working with the children in their clubs, using sports as a means of sharing the message of Christ.  This also allows access to staff and other volunteers.

Light yard work and construction - Many local churches have a list of the elderly or shut-in members who have need of yard work, cleaning or small/simple home repairs.   This is wonderful way to provide someone with the pleasure of a visit, while also meeting a need.   A place where actions and words combine for ministry.   There is also opportunity to partner with Habitat for Humanity for community construction projects.

Volunteers - Local schools, Boys and Girls Clubs and other organizations are always looking for volunteers to be a part of their after school programs, reading programs and other hands on opportunities.   This is a great way to build community relationships, meet a need and open the door for future ministry.

Prayer Walking - This is one of the most important ministries you can provide for those around you.   Schools, churches, towns, individual streets or neighborhoods are great places to prayer walk.  Find an area and ask God to reveal to you people, places and needs to pray for.

As mentioned above, these are just a few of the opportunities that surround us.  If you are interested in learning more or being involved in local missions, please call the SRBA office at (843)726-8294 for more information.
