Ambassadors for Christ - RA Field Day

Ambassadors for Christ

100_1394The 2008 Royal Ambassador Camp Out/Field Day April 12 was nothing less than a heart felt reminder that our King most certainly is upon his throne. It takes our King to create the Christ like loving fellowship we shared between fifty-two boys, twenty-eight RA leaders and some thirty other servants assisting in the events. Altogether eight churches in the association came together for this event.

We thank our Lord for the evidence of his almighty hand orchestrating all the events. We enjoyed a Friday night fire pit gathering as we shared in a reminder of what it is to be a Royal Ambassador. Then we played hide and tag until the men could not put up a chase anymore. After a cozy night’s stay in our tents, on the nice soft dirt, we woke for breakfast and devotional times, and then jumped right into the day’s events.

Everyone exemplified RA virtues as we learned to tie knots, shoot BB rifles, run with wet sponges on our heads and jump in potato sacks. We also did some long jumping, ball throwing, big foot buddy racing, face painting, built sailboats and even had a sailboat regatta. Then, if that didn’t wear us all out, we participated in some bible verse memorization and books of the bible challenges. We were given a great challenge to do all things to the best of our ability for the glory of God by the Dunamis Karate demo team, led by Lindy Woods. It was truly a beautiful day, the sand gnats were few and we all had a wonderful time.

Many thanks goes out to all those who took their time to pray, bring the boys, assist in the coordination, participate in the karate demonstration and most of all for Jesus. May our Lord’s rich blessings continue to be poured out on the boys as we disciple them to be ambassadors for Christ. May all the praise be to Jesus!

Sincerely
Harley Deal
