28 Days of Prayer
Savannah River Baptist Association is preparing to hear from God what initiatives God wants us to pursue for the next 2-3 years. In order to hear God, we must attune our ears to God’s voice. You can help us target our hearing by entering a 28-day prayer focus for Savannah River Association as it seeks God’s face and leadership.
Ginny Yerden, Dennis Wilkins, and I are assembling a tool that will help focus prayer and thoughts to God’s leadership. This 28-day guide will feature a Bible verse or passage, reflection questions, a Did You Know fact about our area or churches, and prayer requests from each church. The 28 days run from March 20-April 16. April 17 is the day of our Spring Session when messengers from our churches will gather at Great Swamp Baptist Church and go through a three-hour collaborative conversation that will lead us to these future initiatives.
The guide will be made available in two formats. Each church will receive printed copies of the guide to make available for people in their congregations. If you prefer a printed copy, you can access it through your church or come by the SRBA office and pick one up.
An electronic version will be emailed daily highlighting the prayer focus of the day on which it is sent. If you receive our electronic newsletter, you will receive the electronic version automatically.
We recognize not everyone who receives our electronic newsletter will want to receive a daily email for 28 days, but would prefer to use a printed copy from their church. I will send an email next week and the week prior to the start of the prayer emphasis to everyone who receives our e-newsletter . If you prefer not receiving the email version, simply reply to the email and I will remove your address from the list.
1. The removal of your address is confidential as I will be the only person who knows who was removed.
2. This will not remove you from receiving future copies of our electronic newsletter.
My prayer is that either of these formats will help you be more effective in praying for the future initiatives of the association, our sister congregations, and the needs of our communities. Thank you for all you do for God’s Kingdom!
