Disaster Relief Update

Savannah River Baptist Association Disaster Relief
by Jimmy Padgett, SRBA Disaster Relief Coordinator

Kim and I have been elected as the Disaster Relief Coordinators for Savannah River Baptist Association and to represent our association with South Carolina Baptist Convention Disaster Relief. On that note, we would like to say "Thank you" for the trust and confidence you have put in us in this position.

We are aware of the many well trained and service-minded volunteers that are members of the SRBA DR team.  From Feeding to Chainsaw to Crisis Intervention to Assessment, we have worked with many of you and have heard the blessings that have come from many others of you as you have responded to GOD’S call.

This fall is going to bring many changes to this ministry and more will come. Our ability to assist you in being prepared comes in many ways.  To better assist you and to grow as an association team we need to have a current database of those wanting to remain active and go forward with current badges and updated training. Even though badges may be current, guidelines change frequently. Updated training is critical not just for victims but for you as well as your team.

Kim and I would like to ask each of you to assist us within your own churches by allowing us time to come and meet you. If possible, we would like to speak on a Wednesday or Sunday night service to share our passion for DR and help your congregation find if this is one ministry GOD may be calling you to get involved with.  Please talk to you pastor or Men’s Ministry leader about allowing us time to meet your congregation.

Below you will find our contact information. For those of you that have kept current with Disaster Relief, we ask you to respond also. We are rebuilding the database as if we were just getting started.
