God Expects You to Ask

John 16:24 Until now you have asked for nothing in My Name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.
Over and over in the Bible we hear God telling us to Ask. He delights in showing us His way of doing things. He always responds to our need in a way that pleases Him and shows how mighty and awesome He is. A few scriptures to read are: Matthew 21:22; James 1:5,6; 1 Kings 3:5; James 4:2; 1 Kings 18:36,37.
May 6 is National Day of prayer. If ever we need to ask God for mercy to our country, it is now. What about our communities? Those who attended the SRBA Spring Session learned a lot of information about their communities that were startling. Are we asking God for direction to minister to our people; are we asking God to use us in a different way, where He will receive the Glory?
God tells us to come boldly to the throne..into His presence. When Elijah prayed, God sent fire from Heaven, which consumed the sacrifice, as well as the wood, water and all that he had put in the offering. What an amazing example of what can happen when we ask, believing that God will answer.
Be assured that whenever we ask God for something, He hears and responds. It may not be what we think we need, but He gives what He knows will benefit us more. Do you believe prayer works? Try it, in faith believing that He is the Almighty God, and has all the answers. Ask!
