Getting Students to Show Up: Practical Ideas for Any Outreach Event from 10 to 10,000 by Jonathan McKee

Getting Students to Show Up by Jonathan McKee is a book that has helped me think through how to do outreach events in Student Ministry. McKee gives some great ideas of how to use door prizes and contest to draw a larger crowd. He also talks about how to do outreach on a very limited budget. Most of us measure success by how many people show up. This book provides practical insights on how to make that happen.

After reading the book, I found the website that Jonathan McKee has for student ministries. The website, www. thesource4ym.com, has helped my ministry. There are hundreds of games listed, skits, articles, and lessons if a teacher were in need of help. I strongly recommend that every youth worker and volunteer check out the website and use the resources that it has available.
